How To Ground Yourself In Challenging Times

 

What does it mean to be ungrounded?

  1. Feeling spacey, in your head

  2. Overthinking

  3. Making compulsive decisions

  4. Distracted easily, checking out

  5. Feeling anxious, buzzing feeling that won’t settle

  6. Getting sucked into drama 

How will you know when you are grounded?

  1. Being fully present in your body

  2. Central nervous system is settled

  3. Feeling connected to the self and the earth

  4. Centered in your thoughts and not swayed by fear

  5. Trust in yourself and your intuition despite what is happening around you

  6. At ease. A feeling of being safe. 

Tips to get grounded:

🌳 Put your feet on the ground and visualize roots growing from the core of the earth into your feet, stabilizing your energy.

🌳 My favorite - Take an Epsom salt bath.

🌳 Go for a walk outside in nature, move your body, get the blood flowing.

🌳 Take a cold shower

🌳 Burn incense or essential oil with earthy scents such as frankincense, pine or Nag Champa

🌳Yoga & Breath Work

🌳 Get still. Turn off your phone and become aware of your body. Sit in stillness for a few minutes.

🌳 Clap your hands, or listen to music that inspires you.

🌳 Dance

🌳 Sip your favorite tea

🌳 Spend time with your pets, their energy is incredibly grounding
